Administration reiterates president’s cooperation with the investigation.
President Joe Biden was interviewed by special counsel Robert Hur on Sunday and Monday, answering questions regarding the handling of classified documents during his tenure as vice president in President Obama’s administration. The White House confirmed the report on Monday, saying that President Biden is continuing to comply with the special counsel’s request for information.
“As we have said from the beginning, the President and the White House are cooperating with this investigation, and as it has been appropriate, we have provided relevant updates publicly, being as transparent as we can consistent with protecting and preserving the integrity of the investigation,” spokesperson Ian Sams stated. “We would refer other questions to the Justice Department at this time.”
